Corrections
WealthR Live reports confirmed UK money changes and what each one does to your pocket. Everything here is written by a person, from the primary source, and people get things wrong. This is what we do when that happens.
What we correct
Anything that would leave you with the wrong number or the wrong date.
A wrong figure, a wrong date, a measure described as confirmed when it is still rumoured, or a rule stated the wrong way round. We fix the page, and where the error changed the meaning we say what it said before and when it changed. We do not quietly rewrite and move on.
Typos, clumsy wording and broken links we simply fix.
How you can tell a page is current
Two dates, both of them real.
The feed carries a checked date, which is the last time a person read every item on it against its original source — not the last time anything was edited. Each entry carries the date that change actually landed. A countdown on a page recomputes itself every time you load it, so it is never a stale number someone forgot to update.
Where the figures come from
Named sources, read directly.
Rates, thresholds and dates come from the body that sets them — HM Treasury and HMRC for tax, the Bank of England for Bank Rate, Ofgem for the energy price cap, the ONS for inflation and wage growth. Where a measure is announced but not yet law we say so, and where it is a rumour we label it a rumour. Figures for rumoured measures are illustrative and may not happen.
Telling us
It goes to a person, not a queue.
Email support@wealthr.co.uk with the page and what looks wrong. If you are right, we will fix it and say so on the page.
