Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account or using WealthR, you agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Who we are
WealthR is a personal finance tracking and planning application built and operated by Kanehouse, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. References to "WealthR", "we", "us" or "our" throughout these terms refer to Kanehouse.
Our service is available at wealthr.co.uk and as a Progressive Web App installable on iOS and Android devices.
Accepting these terms
By registering for an account or using any part of WealthR, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract
- You have read and understood these terms and our Privacy Policy
- You agree to be bound by these terms in full
- Where you are using WealthR on behalf of a business, you have authority to bind that business to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of WealthR after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
What WealthR is — and isn't
WealthR is a personal finance tracking, planning and visualisation tool. It helps you record, organise and understand your financial position over time. It includes a UK income tax calculator, a net worth tracker, a FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) calculator, a financial stress test, ISA and SIPP trackers, a dividend income planner, a state pension projection and related features.
WealthR does not provide financial advice. Nothing displayed within the application — including forecasts, projections, scenario modelling, FIRE calculations, return estimates, tax calculations, HICBC calculations, Marriage Allowance calculations, Scottish income tax calculations, stress-test scenarios or any other figures — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, pensions advice or any regulated financial service.
The tax calculator uses HMRC published rates for the applicable tax year and is provided for illustrative purposes only. It does not account for every personal circumstance, relief or allowance, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified, FCA-authorised financial adviser or an accredited tax professional.
All projections and estimates are mathematical models based on the data you enter and on assumptions you select. They are illustrative only. Past performance figures you enter do not guarantee future results. Market returns, inflation, interest rates and personal circumstances all change.
If you need financial advice, please consult a qualified, FCA-authorised financial adviser. WealthR is a tool to help you think — not to tell you what to do.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- Not create multiple accounts to circumvent any restrictions or limitations
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe have been compromised, are being used fraudulently, or are in breach of these terms.
Your data
All financial data you enter into WealthR belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over it.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings tab. Deletion is permanent and irreversible — we do not retain your financial data after account deletion, other than minimal records required by law (for example, billing records for tax and accounting purposes where you have been a paid subscriber).
We do not sell, rent, license or otherwise transfer your personal financial data to third parties. For full details of how we handle your data, please read our Privacy Policy.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display your data for the sole purpose of providing the WealthR service to you. This licence ends when you delete your account.
Adviser share links (Pro) — if you generate a secure read-only share link for a financial adviser or accountant, you are responsible for who you share that link with. Share links are read-only and can be revoked from Settings at any time. They expire automatically after the period you specify.
Acceptable use
You agree to use WealthR only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Use WealthR for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users' accounts, or any part of the service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of WealthR
- Use automated tools, bots or scrapers to access the service in a way that exceeds normal personal use
- Introduce malicious code, viruses or any material that is harmful to our systems or other users
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Use the service to process personal or financial data belonging to other individuals without their explicit consent
- Resell, sublicense or otherwise commercialise access to WealthR without our written permission
Intellectual property
WealthR — including its design, code, guides, written content, branding, blog articles and all other elements — is the intellectual property of Kanehouse. All rights are reserved.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from any part of WealthR without our prior written consent.
Your own financial data remains your intellectual property at all times.
Service availability
We aim to keep WealthR available and running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We may need to take the service offline temporarily for maintenance, updates or to address security issues. Where possible, we will provide advance notice of planned downtime.
We are not liable for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused by unavailability of the service, including where caused by third-party service providers (see Section 12).
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kanehouse shall not be liable for:
- Any financial, investment, tax or pension decisions you make based on information displayed in WealthR
- Any loss of data, loss of profits, or indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service
- Any inaccuracies in projections, forecasts, tax figures or calculations resulting from data you have entered or assumptions you have selected
- Any losses arising from unauthorised access to your account where you have not taken reasonable steps to protect your credentials
- Any losses arising from the actions or inaction of third-party service providers (such as Stripe, Supabase or CoinGecko)
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of WealthR shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.
Plans and pricing
WealthR offers two plans:
Free — includes all core features: net worth tracker, UK income tax calculator (2025/26 bands, including HICBC, Marriage Allowance and Scottish rates), FIRE calculator, basic financial stress test, ISA and SIPP tracker, dividend planner, live crypto prices, property tracking, three-scenario forecasts, state pension projection, UK news feed and blog. No credit card required. No expiry.
Pro — £4.99 per month or £39.99 per year (saving approximately 33%), payable in advance. Pro adds: PDF financial reports, secure adviser share links, the actual-return forecast scenario, full financial stress-test controls, unlimited financial history and additional Pro-only features listed on our pricing page.
All prices are shown in British pounds (GBP) and, where applicable, are inclusive of UK VAT at the prevailing rate.
We may adjust pricing from time to time. Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days' advance notice of any price change, and may cancel before the change takes effect. We will never silently raise the price on an existing subscription.
Subscriptions, billing, free trials and refunds
Payment processor. All payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment provider. We do not see, store or process your card details on our servers. By paying for a Pro subscription you also agree to Stripe's terms where applicable.
Recurring billing. Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current rate, until you cancel. You authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your nominated payment method for each renewal.
7-day free trial. New Pro users may be offered a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your chosen plan will begin and the first charge will be taken automatically. You may cancel at any time during the trial from Settings → Subscription, and you will not be charged.
Cancelling your subscription. You may cancel at any time via Settings → Subscription, or by emailing us at support@wealthr.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to Pro features until that period ends. There are no cancellation fees and no lock-in periods.
Your UK statutory right to cancel. Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers have a 14-day right to cancel contracts purchased online. By starting a Pro subscription or free trial, you expressly request that the digital service begins immediately, and you acknowledge that this may limit your right to a refund for the portion of the service already delivered. You can still cancel your subscription at any time — see above.
Refunds. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused time within a completed billing period. In exceptional circumstances — for example, a material service outage affecting Pro functionality, or an incorrect charge — we may issue full or partial refunds at our discretion. If you believe you have been incorrectly billed, please contact us within 30 days of the charge at support@wealthr.co.uk and we will investigate promptly.
Failed payments. If a scheduled payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry over a short period. If payment cannot be collected, your account will revert to the Free plan and Pro features will be paused until a successful payment is received. Your data will be preserved on the Free plan during this period.
Promotions and discounts. Any promotional discount codes or referral credits are subject to their own terms, which we will state alongside the offer. Promotions cannot normally be combined unless we state otherwise.
Third-party services
WealthR relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. By using WealthR, you also accept the terms of these services to the extent they apply to you:
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. stripe.com/legal
- Supabase — data hosting, authentication and encrypted database. supabase.com/terms
- Render — application hosting. render.com/terms
- CoinGecko — public cryptocurrency price data. No personal data is transmitted to CoinGecko.
- Google Fonts — web typography. No personal data is transmitted.
We do not share your personal financial data with these services beyond what is strictly necessary to operate WealthR. For full details of who processes what, see our Privacy Policy.
We are not liable for service disruptions, data loss or other failures caused by third-party providers, although we will make reasonable efforts to restore service promptly where within our control.
Termination
You may stop using WealthR and delete your account at any time via the Settings tab. Deletion is immediate and permanent — see Section 5 for details of what is and isn't retained.
We may suspend or terminate your access to WealthR if you breach these terms, engage in behaviour we consider harmful to other users or our systems, or if we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you first and give you an opportunity to fix the issue.
On termination, your licence to use WealthR ends. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — shall continue to apply.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of WealthR will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you will retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection laws of your place of residence that cannot be disapplied by contract.
